According to foreign media reports, Temu has recently released its 2026 Intellectual Property Protection Report, covering the period from June 2025 to May 2026, disclosing the platform’s progress and achievements in intellectual property protection.

Per the report, over the past year, the number of brands under the platform’s proactive monitoring rose from more than 5,000 to over 15,000. The ratio of proactively removed potential infringing listings to passively removed ones climbed from approximately 200:1 in the previous year to 331:1. The platform’s detection database now contains more than 47 million images and 9.5 million keywords, with image coverage surging over 8 times year-on-year. The average processing time for IP complaints is less than 24 hours. In the past 12 months, the platform has partnered with over 130 industry associations, nearly doubling the figure from the prior year.

Temu combines self-developed screening algorithms with manual review teams to proactively detect and take down infringing product links. Identifying infringements in advance reduces legal enforcement burdens for brand owners, especially small and medium-sized merchants without dedicated IP teams. The platform has set up pre-audit thresholds during seller onboarding: more than 40% of new store applications were rejected at the verification stage over the past year, while over 16,000 stores were permanently removed for repeated violations of IP rules. All product listings are cross-checked against the detection database before going live, and remain under continuous monitoring post-launch.

Temu has rolled out a consumer prompt function across all its operating markets. Searches for counterfeit and knockoff terms return no matching results, accompanied by pop-up warnings about counterfeit risks. This feature blocks over 80,000 risky search queries every day.

In addition, Temu launched the Brand Guardian Program in April 2024, enabling brand owners to upload trademarks and other IP assets into the platform’s monitoring system to accelerate infringement detection. The program now includes more than 3,000 brands, among which around 500 are micro, small and medium enterprises. Participating brands receive one-on-one support and regular enforcement data reports regardless of whether they operate stores on Temu.

Over the past year, Temu has established partnerships with more than 130 IP-related associations, nearly doubling its network scale year-on-year. In April 2026, Temu officially joined the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition (IACC), having previously participated in the coalition’s Market Advisory Council. Furthermore, the platform maintains cooperative ties with IP organizations at home and abroad including the International Trademark Association (INTA) and French Manufacturers’ Union.
